Computer Center Guidelines

The Dorchester County Library offers free access to computers and the Internet at both library locations.  A library card is required to access the Internet computers.  Word processing only computers with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are available and do not require a library card.  Computers are available on a first come, first served basis.

Each card holder has a maximum time limit of 2 hours per day.  Out of town visitors should inquire at the desk for a visitor pass.  Visitor passes have a limit of 1 hour per day.

Save your work to portable USB drives ("flash drives"/"jump drives").  You may bring your own USB drives or purchase drives at the circulation desk.

Because computers are so popular, the Library has installed software known as "SAM" (Smart Access Manager™) on each computer.  Printing from computers is also managed by SAM.
